Is your partner absolutely faultless? Do they wear shoes in the house? Leave old teacups everywhere? Always forget to buy a newspaper? Talk far too long on the phone? Hog the bathroom for long periods? Look away when you are talking or always get home late from work?
I guess that’s partners for you and it’s a fair bet that if you asked them, they would find their share of faults with you too. Snoring, leaving the loo seat up and obsessing on Leeds United (who can blame you for that) come to mind.
It’s how you deal with the things that annoy you that counts. Do you embrace the little foibles that make your partner into the person they are or do you go down the road to potential ruin and ask them to fundamentally change their habits?
The answer is probably inbetween because we all like to nag a bit, but it’s important to keep a smile on your face when you do nag. Remember that your partner is a package of good and bad bits and that the good almost certainly outweighs the bad. Keep a sense of perspective and a sense of humour is usually sound advice.
